Skilled Nominated Visa (subclass 190)

Visa Description

This visa is for points-tested skilled workers who are nominated by a state or territory government agency. It allows you to live and work in Australia as a permanent resident.
Immigration visa applicants need to first submit EOI (Expression of Interest). The Department of Immigration will assess the application. If the applicant meets all the requirements, they will then be invited to submit a further 190 visa application. Applying for the state sponsored visa can provide the applicant with extra 5 points, so applicants only need to reach 60 points to satisfy the minimum immigration requirement.
